Appliances
Lots! There’s a kettle, toaster, percolator, urn, hoover, steam
iron, even a radio and tv
Bathroom There is no bathroom YET! So you wash down
at the sink (Sep bowls for bodies!)
Binoculars Provided as well as bird and tree books
Batteries * For torch and PP3 for smoke detector if
staying a long while. Charger there in top drawer of chest
Bird spotting There is a basic bird spotting identification
book
Beds There is a full size double bed in the bedroom
through the archway.
In the sitting room there is a single bed plus a single mattress and
a comfy sofa. (+ camp bed)
Boots + Galoshes * Wellies in winter and a hat! (Some
Wellies are available there)
Camera + Film * People often regret not having one
with them
Camp bed There is one available by arrangement if you
need to sleep 5
CD Player New April 2007
There is basic radio/cassette and CD player there. Bring own CD’s!
Cleaning materials * Washing up liquid and cleaning
items are provided but Eco stuff always welcome
C02 Detector - Latest model installed
Cooker Full size gas cooker with 4 rings, grill and oven
Cooking Utensils Provided: There are many pots and
pans and almost every item of cutlery you could think of.
Coffee Percolator There is a fab 70’s Russell Hobbs
percolator. Great cup of coffee (bring coarse ground) *
Cutlery There’s loads and even some fairly good sharp
cooks knives
Dehumidifier. There is an excellent one there. The
cabin is not a damp place anyway
Duvets New 15.6 tog down duvets April
2007 provided - please supply your own linen
Easel There is a 5 ft A frame easel for artists to
make use of
Ecover * washing up fluid and cream cleanser always
welcome.
Electricity The cabin has a mains electricity supply (rare
power cuts in storms in a harsh winter)
Floodlight 1 in shed on lead and another ready to use,
faces the bedroom (plug by bedside socket.

Food * Sometimes there are dry goods eg salt/pepper,
rice, tea/coffee etc but ask to be sure
VITAL NOTE: Grains/Pasta and nuts we keep in the microwave as this is
mouse and squirrel proof.
They can smell chocolate and sugar a mile off and will eat their way
through anything to get at it!
Fridge Full size fridge freezer
Fuel Provided. Electricity is on mains. Bottled Gas
for cooking and log burner etc
Gardening There’s gloves to wellies and every tool
you could think of
Heaters There's various effective options, a log burner
and an automatic dehumidifier/warm air heater etc.
Hoover There is a Dyson and smaller vacuum cleaner
Insect repellent * You might need end July to end August

Keys - Arrangements will be made upon confirmation
Laundry * We do not offer this facility but there is
a washing line. The socket is by the tiles/path
Linen * 1 single + 1 single mattress plus 1 double
bed, duvets and pillows provided. PLEASE bring your own linen sheets/duvet
covers/pillow cases and towels. Most people just put their linen on
top/over ours
Log Burner No shortage of wood! If poss’ please chop/saw
some to replenish as it takes 1 year to dry out.
New glass door for log burner/stove. Nice
cosy warm glow off the logs!
Map Provided - Ordnance Survey map
Matches Take new! * Although there's usually some there,
they sometimes go soft (winter)
Marvel milk powder some in stock usually or UHT/Soya
milk.
Medication * The cabin is not near a chemist! If you
are being prescribed anything take care.
Meditation Basic cushions and stool provided.
Microwave There is one there
Mice repellents: There are 3 very effective electronic
repellents in use and we haven't seen a mouse since.
Mobile phone New April
2007. There is a mobile phone at the cabin for use in
emergencies and for incoming calls in case you need to leave an emergency
contact number. the number is 07780 792716. If you wish to have use
of this phone for outgoing calls you will need to buy a Vodaphone top
up card BEFORE you go to the cabin. Ask for details in good time before
your stay.
Night clothes * It's a cabin and although double glazed
and insulated bring warm clothes in winter.
Postcards There are some there for you to use/take.

Puja Book There is one there on the bookcase shelf
Radio There is a small CD player with radio. Please
feel free to put it in the shed if you don’t want to use it.
Shrine There are a couple of Rupas, a Vajra and some
meditation cushions there (not huge amount)
Slippers * Muddy shoes best left by kitchen door. Some
Wellies in shed.
Smoke Detector - Latest one installed - insert batteries
upon arrival
Small torch There are some there including a huge spotlight
and chargers.
Soap powder * Please bring if you intend to wash out
clothes etc
Stone? * Speak to Peter about the future granite wall
! Paving slabs?
Stove Log burning stove and no shortage of wood! (there
is a cast iron stew pot.. excellent for soups/stews)
Tea light candles * For your shrine - NO NAKED FLAMES

Tea Towels * Please bring 1 clean and take away 1 used.
(there are a few there usually but this helps us)
Telescope Reflecting telescope provided with Astral
charts and a Moon Map for star gazers!
Television There is a tv there. Please put it in the
shed for your stay if you don’t want to use it.
Tent There is a top quality 4 room ‘breathable’ tent
available by arrangement
Tissues + Toilet Paper * some usually there but bring
a spare!
Toilet There is a bio-friendly chemical outside toilet
(Shed with a light!) (heating to follow!)
Toaster Yes
Tools There is a very well equipped tool shed
Towels * Please bring your own. (There are some there
for emergency use but we don't have a maid yet!)
Urn
There is a hot water urn for washing. (Uses Water from the
rainwater tank. Brass key inside key box)
Warm
clothes * and boots for forest
Wash kit * Flannel very handy as there is no bathroom
Water for washing and the hot water urn is from the
rainwater tank outside
Water (drinking) * ? Usually bottled tap water can
be provided but please ask first, as often people
forget to bring empty containers back to London!
Wood for stove There is tons of it lying on the forest
floor although dried out under cover works best
Please
try and collect the same amount of firewood that you use, it really
helps us!
Writing
* Most people bring a pen and paper
